There are some pretty unique lakes in our area, but Paudash has a special place in my heart. It is unique in that the lake is fed by numerous small streams that form the headwaters of the Crowe River, including those from four small lakes: Silent Lake, Deer Lake, Anderson Lake, and Centre Lake. Based on this inflow and the outflow to the Crowe River, the provincial government estimates that the water of the lake is replaced every three years.
There is a public beach on the north end and a sandbar also located in the lower Paudash section of the lake, just past the McGillivray bridge. You will find your friends on a hot summer day hanging out in the sandbar, which is visible from Hwy 28.
Also situated on the Canadian Shield, you will find unique pink granite outcroppings that are special to this specific area.
