North Kawartha is my home, and I have lived here, with the exception of a slight break in my 20s, for my entire life. I love the area for its terrain and people. It is neighbours helping neighbours and businesses that rely on their community, cottagers and residents. We have numerous lakes and large parks all within our reach. It is truly an amazing place to cottage or call home. Being outdoors is my passion, gardening, boating, hiking, or just sitting on the back deck enjoying a glass of wine and the sunset. If that were a job I could get paid for, I would sign up! The next best option is to be a realtor in cottage country. I get to enjoy the outdoors, lakes, forests, boating, and see a water access cottage; it just makes sense, and I love it!
Real Estate is interesting to me, because unlike the city, no two houses/cottages are the same. Similarities, yes, but each one has its own character, landscape and value. The same applies to sellers and buyers; no two are the same. Realtors work with a range of scenarios in purchasing and selling, such as first-time buyers, investment properties, first-time sellers, divorces, and deaths. The one thing they don't teach you in school for this job is experience, and how could they? Experience cannot be taught; it is learnt. Experience helps you in the negotiation process when you’re sitting there with your seller, and they want to get every last penny out of this sale. Experience teaches you to read signs, not only in a property but in your customer. Real Estate is not just as simple as buying or selling. It is working with your customer every step of the way. I would say there are days I feel like a therapist, a good friend & confidant, as well as a protective sibling. Experience is what is needed in one of the most important financial moves of your life, and with my experience and knowledge, I would love to help you with your next transaction in real estate.
