There's something about a beautiful fall day in North Kawartha that makes you appreciate where you live. Fresh air, changing leaves, a little sunshine, and a four-legged sidekick who couldn't care less about interest rates or property values.

I was born and raised in this area, and after more than a decade in real estate, one thing hasn't changed: I genuinely love where I live.

Whether it's the backroads around Apsley, the shores of many beautiful lakes in my backyard, or the quiet country properties tucked away throughout North Kawartha, this isn't just where I sell real estate. It's home.

And when I'm not showing properties, negotiating deals, or answering real estate questions, there's a pretty good chance you'll find me outside, enjoying the same lifestyle I'm helping people find.

Because buying a home or cottage in North Kawartha isn't just about four walls and a roof. It's about everything that comes with living here.

And sometimes, the best part of the day doesn't involve real estate at all. Just fresh air, muddy paws, and remembering why you love calling this place home.

Some people hide from their responsibilities. Apparently, I hide behind waterfront cottages on Loon Call Lake. 😂

But seriously, can you blame me?

When your office includes fresh air, beautiful lakes, towering trees, and some of the prettiest waterfront properties in North Kawartha, it's sometimes hard to remember you're supposed to be working.

Welcome to Loon Call Lake, where cottage country still feels like cottage country.

Tucked into the beautiful North Kawartha area, just minutes from Apsley and surrounded by the natural beauty of Kawartha Highlands Provincial Park, Loon Call Lake is one of those places that reminds you why people fall in love with Ontario cottage country in the first place.

And this particular waterfront cottage? She's got personality.

We're talking approximately 390 feet of waterfront, 1.83 acres, three bedrooms, one bathroom, and the kind of setting that makes you want to put your phone down, grab a coffee, and forget what day it is.

It's not trying to be some fancy, over-the-top waterfront mansion.

It's a cottage cottage. You know, the kind where sandy toes, wet bathing suits, fishing rods, and evenings by the water are all part of the deal.

And quite frankly, I think we need more of that.

Looking for a cottage near Apsley, Ontario?

Whether you're searching for waterfront cottages for sale in North Kawartha, exploring Loon Call Lake real estate, or dreaming about owning a little piece of the Kawarthas, there's something pretty special about this area.

I grew up around these lakes. I know the roads, the communities, the hidden gems, and the difference between buying a property that looks good in pictures and one that actually suits how you want to spend your summers.

Because buying a cottage isn't just about the building.

It's about the lifestyle that comes with it.

And if you happen to spot me hiding behind one during a showing, mind your business. I'm probably just appreciating the real estate. 😂

This photo isn't from 20 years ago.
It's from this summer on Jack Lake - out on the lake with family, still doing the same kind of things that have made summers in North Kawartha pretty hard to beat.

I grew up in North Kawartha; this lake has been part of my life for as long as I can remember.

Swimming. Boating. Kayaking. Tubing. Snowmobiling. Ice fishing.

Summer days on the water and sunny winter days on the ice.

I have friends and family on Jack Lake, and I've spent enough time here over the years to know that this lake is a whole lot more than a pin on a map. And that's something I think matters when you're looking at real estate in North Kawartha.

You can Google Jack Lake, Ontario. You can look at satellite images, property listings and waterfront measurements. But that doesn't necessarily tell you what it's actually like to spend a July afternoon here - or what the lake and surrounding community are like in February.

That's the part of local knowledge I love sharing.

Jack Lake is just one of the many lakes that make North Kawartha the place I've always called home. These aren't simply areas where I sell real estate. They're places where I boat, swim, fish, snowmobile, spend time with friends and family - and apparently still get dragged around behind a boat on a tube!

So if you landed here because you were searching for Jack Lake, Ontario, welcome.

Have a look around, learn a little about North Kawartha, check out what's for sale, or reach out if you have questions about buying or selling a home or cottage in the area.

And if you already know Jack Lake?

Then you probably understand exactly why I love it here.

Some lakes I know because I'm a Realtor. Chandos Lake is one I knew long before real estate ever entered the picture. So many of my summer memories are tied to this lake.

Chandos Beach is where I learned to swim. I spent summers here fishing with my dad and brothers, renting cottages over the years, bachelorette parties, BBQs, and the Fireworks! The kind of memories you don't realize are special until you get older. Gosh! So many memories have been made on this lake, and we're still making more.

Growing up in North Kawartha, lakes like Chandos weren't somewhere we went for a week of vacation - they were simply part of life. And all these years later, I get to experience Chandos in a completely different way.

I've had the opportunity to sell several cottages and waterfront properties on Chandos Lake, and one of the things I love about this lake is how different every property can be. Different bays, different shorelines, different views, different depths and exposures - and every cottage seems to have its own story.

That local knowledge matters when you're looking at Chandos Lake real estate.

Buying a cottage isn't just about the number of bedrooms or what the listing photos look like. It's understanding the lake, the waterfront, the road, the location and how you actually want to use the property.

For me, being able to work on the same lake where I learned to swim, fished with my family and spent so many summers growing up is pretty special.

And getting to introduce someone else to a place that might eventually hold the same kind of memories for their family? That's one of the best parts of what I do.

If you're searching for a cottage or waterfront property on Chandos Lake, in Apsley or anywhere in North Kawartham, I'd be happy to help you find the right piece of it.
